Winter's Power Devlog #4- New Graphics + Survival Scene


Devlog #4 

How is everyone?

Today's devlog features a snippet of what I have been working on for the past few days. I'm excited to show you a change to the graphics I made to the game. It is not a huge change to the overall style, but as someone suggested to me, a pixelate shader may look nice to better balance out the 3D and 2D areas of the game. Anyway, I added the shader and it gives off a more gritty feel to the scene. Tell me what you think about it!

Next, I added some Survival/Horror gameplay. That being said, the scene and gameplay you will see in the video is nowhere complete, and I've got a long way to go to create a good scary atmosphere, and not to mention some scary SFX too. 

In short, the scene places the player in a situation where they must use a torch to light lanterns, in order to get a good view of the area and see the end goal. If a lantern is not lit before a certain time limit, then a threat is spawned by the player. As of now, Game Over is triggered by getting too close to an enemy or sprinting too much. 

Feel free to give suggestions because I am still thinking about the best ways to execute the gameplay in this scene, and make it the best it can be.
